“A quarter of a century old and still growing,” The Silver Anniversary celebration of Missouri's State Fair was the largest to date, with production expenditures totaling $100,000 above normal operating expenses. The “J. George Laos Shows on the Joy Zone” arrived in twenty-five railroad cars. Baseball had been added to the entertainment, as had passenger carrying airplane fights. The Fair presented the largest assembly of farm machinery in its history and ended with a grand parade of all livestock, automobiles, and farm machinery displayed during the Fair. The Silver Anniversary proved to be the Fair's zenith, setting new records for numbers of exhibits and amusements, an attendance of 240,000 people, and receipts $13,000 above the previous year's.
