Startup for Soldiers
All active duty military in Missouri, including those in the Missouri National guard, may now create new businesses without paying a filing fee with the Office of the Secretary of State.
The following fees for new business filings will be waived:

To qualify, all active military personnel must reside in Missouri and show proof of active service to the Office of the Secretary of State. Proof may include showing staff of the Business Services Division a letter from your respective service or your military ID card (CAC Card).
You may visit any of our four locations to file your eligible filing or you may mail your filing to our office. Please include a letter from your respective service organization or other acceptable proof to demonstrate you are active military. We do not recommend you copy your military ID card.
We currently cannot waive fees if you file electronically through our online system. However, a refund will be processed if you contact our office the same day you file electronically.
