EXECUTIVE ORDER
24-08

WHEREAS, I declared a State of Emergency under Executive Order 24-06 on May 2, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Executive Order 24-06 was set to expire on May 30, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Executive Order 24-06 was extended by Executive Order 24-07 and is now set to expire on June 30, 2024; and

WHEREAS, I have been advised by the State Emergency Management Agency that extending Executive Order 24-06, and the State of Emergency declared therein, is necessary to continue addressing the ongoing and forecasted severe storm systems; and

WHEREAS, forecasted severe storm systems, in conjunction with riverine flooding along the Missouri river system due to excessive rainfall over several major river systems and releases from various Missouri River reservoirs, have the potential to impact communities throughout the State of Missouri: and

WHEREAS, the State of Missouri will continue to be proactive where the health and safety of its people are concerned; and

WHEREAS, the resources of the State of Missouri have been needed and will continue to be needed to assist affected jurisdictions and to help relieve the condition of distress and hazard to the safety and welfare of our fellow Missourians.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, MICHAEL L. PARSON, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the State of Missouri, including sections 44.100 and 44.110, RSMo, do hereby extend Executive Order 24-06, and the State of Emergency declared therein, until July 31, 2024, unless terminated or extended by subsequent order.

I further authorize and direct state agencies to provide assistance as needed.
