EXECUTIVE ORDER
95-03

WHEREAS, the State Health Laboratory serves all divisions of the department; and

WHEREAS, the Office of the Director can better coordinate the local health activities of all divisions within the department; and

WHEREAS, the Office of the Director can oversee the operation of the Missouri Rehabilitation Center; and

WHEREAS, the care coordination functions of the Office of Head Injury need to be placed with the other care coordination programs of the department in the Bureau of Special Health Care Needs of the Division of Maternal, Child and Family Health; and

WHEREAS, the statistical functions of the Bureau of Primary Care need to be realigned with other data gathering programs in the State Cheter for Health Statistics in the Division of Health Resources; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Health, in consultation with the Governor, has decided to dissolve the Division of Injury Prevention, Head Injury Rehabilitation and Local Health Services and transfer its functions to other areas within the department in the interests of efficiency;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mel Carnahan, Govenor of the State of Missouri, dissolve the Division of Injury Prevention, Head Injury Rehabilitation and Local Health Services and transfer the local health related services functions and Missouri Rehabilitation Center to the Office of the Director; the Office of Head Injury Services functions to the Bureau of Special Health Care Needs within the Division of Maternal, Child and Family Health; the Bureau of Primary Care functions to the Division of Health Resources and the State Health Laboratory to the Division of Administration.

This Executive Order shall be effective February 3, 1995.
