PROCLAMATION
On the extraordinary occasion that exists in the State of Missouri.
I, MEL CARNAHAN, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, by this proclamation, and under the authority granted in Article IV, Section 9 of the Missouri Constitution, convene the Eighty-seventh General Assembly of the State of Missouri in the First Extra Session of the Second Regular Session; and
I HEREBY CALL upon the Senators and Representatives of said General Assembly to meet in the State Capitol in the City of Jefferson at 12:00 p. m., Thursday, September 22, 1994; and
I HEREBY STATE, that the action of said General Assembly is deemed necessary concerning the matter specifically designated and limited hereinafter as follows:
- To consider, as authorized and provided for by Article VII, Sections 1 and 2, of the Constitution of the State of Missouri, whether or not the House of Representatives shall be satisfied that there is good cause to impeach Judith K. Moriarty, Secretary of State of the State of Missouri, for the reasons delineated by Article VII, Section 1 of the Missouri Constitution, and if so, pursuant to Chapter 106 RSMo, to cause Articles of Impeachment to be made out in due form against Judith K. Moriarty, Secretary of State of the State of Missouri. If said Articles of Impeachment are made out in due form against Judith K. Moriarty, Secretary of State of the State of Missouri, the House of Representatives shall cause said Articles to be made out to transmit the same to the Supreme Court and to immediately elect managers to prosecute such impeachment.
