EXECUTIVE ORDER
93-23
WHEREAS, flooding during the Summer of 1993 has displaced thousands of workers; and
WHEREAS, these displaced workers have sought unemployment benefits; and
WHEREAS, charging the employers of these displaced workers for such unemployment benefits would work a hardship on these employers;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mel Carnahan, Governor of the State of Missouri, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the State of Missouri, including Chapter 44 RSMo 1986, do hereby order that the benefit charges on employers of workers unemployed as a direct result of the flooding be waived.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be affixed the Great Seal of the State of Missouri, in the City of Jefferson, on this 2nd day of August, 1993.
