EXECUTIVE ORDER
86-22
WHEREAS, an unprecedented amount of precipitation caused flood conditions throughout the state of Missouri; and
WHEREAS, such flood conditions have created a condition of distress and hazard to property, no recognized to be beyond the capabilities of local and other established agencies necessitating, therefore, the provision of emergency relief to the citizenry of the distressed area;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOHN ASHCROFT, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, and the Commander-in-Chief of the militia of this State, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of this State and pursuant to Chapter 41.480, Revised Statutes of Missouri, do hereby declare that an emergency exists in the State of Missouri and I order and direct the Adjutant General of the State, or his designee, to forthwith call and order into active service such portions of the organized militia as he deems necessary to aid the executive officials of Missouri, to protect life and property, and it is further ordered and directed that the Adjutant General of his designee, and through him the commanding officer of any unit or other organization of such organized militia so called into active service to take such action and employ such equipment as may be necessary in support of civilian authorities, and to provide such other assistance as may be authorized and directed by the Governor of this State.
This order shall terminate on 3 November, 1986, unless extended in whole or in part.
