EXECUTIVE ORDER
80-25

WHEREAS, I have been advised by the office of the Sheriff of Newton County that a natural disaster of major proportions has occurred in Newton County, Missouri; that injury to persons is threatened and damage to and loss of property has resulted from a severe fire, and that the safety and welfare of the inhabitants thereof require an invocation of the provisions of Section 41.480, RSMo 1978;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH P. TEASDALE, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of this State and pursuant to Section 41.480, RSMo 1978, do hereby call and authorize the Adjutant General of this State, and/or his designee, to forthwith call and order into active service such portion of the organized militia as may be necessary to protect life and property, to preserve law and order and to execute the law in Missouri. The Adjutant General and/or his designee, and through him the Commanding Officer of any Unit of other organization of such organized militia is hereby authorized and ordered to forthwith take such action and utilize such equipment as may be necessary to support civilian authorities within the County of Newton.
