EXECUTIVE ORDER
80-19
WHEREAS, a tornado struck the City of Sedalia, Pettis County, Missouri, May 12, 1980 causing bodily injury, and property damage; and
WHEREAS, such tornado created a condition of distress and hazard to the public health and safety, recognized to be beyond the capabilities of local and other established agencies necessitating, therefore, the provisions of emergency relief of the distress areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH P. TEASDALE, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and Statutes of this State and pursuant to Section 41.480, Revised Statutes of Missouri, 1978, do hereby call and authorize the Adjutant General of this State, and/or his designee, to forthwith call and order into active service such portion of the organized militia as may be necessary to protect life and property, to preserve law and order and to execute the law in Missouri. The said Adjutant General and/or his designee, and through him the Commanding Officer of any Unit or other organization of such organized militia is hereby authorized and ordered to forthwith take such action and utilize such equipment as may be necessary to support civilian authorities within the State of Missouri.
