Summer Reading Program

 

The Summer Reading Program theme this year is “Adventure Begins at Your Library” and the dates are June 1, 2024 through July 31, 2024. Sign up will begin mid-May and we will once again be using the Beanstack app to track reading progress.

• Participants will need to read five books to complete the program!
• Some of the adventures this year will be held virtually!
• We will be exploring popular landmarks in Missouri, using our 3-D printer for projects, sending out activities and having some Zoom events!

• NLS Summer Reading Kickoff (all ages), June 24 at 3:00 p.m. Central Time  
• Angeline Boulley (YA and Adult), July 25 at 6:00 p.m. Central Time

Independent Activities

• Sensory Nature Scavenger Hunt (all ages)
  • Nature Hunt 1 - Very Simple (16 Items)
  • Nature Hunt 2 - More Challenging (25 Items)
• Choose Your Reading Adventure (Coming Soon)

Summer Crafts

Craft kits are intended for youth patrons (and participating siblings), as well as for intellectually disabled adult patrons who regularly receive youth books.  Registration: https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/7251149/2023-Summer-Reading-Craft-Registration
