Missouri Historical Records Advisory Board (MHRAB)

National Historical Publications and Records Commission Grants

The National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) serves as a link between the National Archives and Records Administration and state and local institutions. Through its grant program, the NHPRC promotes the preservation and use of America’s documentary heritage. Funding is provided for a variety of activities, including preservation of special collections, creation of archival programs, management of electronic records, and professional training. Missouri has received 40 grants from the NHPRC totaling over $1.8 million.

The Missouri Historical Records Advisory Board (MHRAB) serves as the state-level review panel for grant proposals submitted to the NHPRC from Missouri. The MHRAB is willing to assist grant applicants with the composition of their grant proposals and invites applicants to submit a draft of their application for review prior to submission to the NHPRC. All drafts to be reviewed must be received 45 days prior to the deadline for NHPRC submission. Drafts may be mailed to the MHRAB/Missouri State Archives, 600 W. Main St., Jefferson City, MO, 65101 or e-mailed to [email protected].

To learn more about the grants available and the deadlines for application, please review the NHPRC’s grant announcements.
