Program Packs: A Service to Institutions from Wolfner Library

What Are Program Packs?
Program Packs are group activity kits that prompt interaction and conversation. Armed with a Program Pack, leaders can conduct fun-filled activities with little or no preparation.
There are two kinds of packs available: Bi-Folkal Kits, which have reminiscence themes, and Discovery Kits on the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
The check-out period for Program Packs is four weeks; this may be extended on request if the kit has not been reserved by another user.
What Items Come in a Program Pack?
Each pack is filled with various multi-sensory items and fun activities like:
- Slide-show with cassette narration; show and narration usually repeated on videotape
- Tactile objects to touch
- Pictures to discuss
- Scents to smell
- Songs for sing-alongs and music to accompany discussion
- Scripts for skits
- Recipes for snacks
- Word games
- Paper crafts
- Leader's manual full of suggestions
How Do I Receive a Program Pack?
Wolfner ships the Program Packs to users free-of-charge, but borrowers must pay the return shipping fee .
Because of the high demand for Program Packs, borrowers are allowed only one kit at a time.
You can reserve a specific kit for a certain period, or just receive Program Packs as they are available and your schedule allows.
