Kander Reminds Missourians: One Week Left to Vote in "Remembering Harry" Blue Book Photo Contest
Jefferson City, Mo. — Secretary of State Jason Kander is encouraging Missourians to vote in the "Remembering Harry" Blue Book photo contest at www.sos.mo.gov/photocontest before the contest comes to an end at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 30. Honoring President Harry Truman, the contest draws its categories — "Carry the battle to them," "The most peaceful thing in the world is plowing a field" and "I don’t believe in little plans" — from the words of the 33rd president.
The five photographs receiving the most votes in each category will advance as finalists to the next round of the contest. A committee of judges from Kander’s office will then make the final selections, and the winning photos will be published with full credit to the photographer in the Blue Book, scheduled for release at the end of this year.
Photos were submitted by citizens around the state and feature a variety of Missouri’s unique events and scenery.
In order to vote in the contest, Missourians should visit www.sos.mo.gov/photocontest before the 5 p.m. deadline on Friday, August 30.
