About MOSL Interlibrary Loan
All state employees needing job-related research materials are eligible for interlibrary loan services from the Missouri State Library. Normally there are no charges for these services to state agency personnel. There are some occasions when the only available source for materials may impose a fee on the State Library greater than an amount the State Library is willing to absorb. In these instances the charges may be passed on to the requesting agency by the State Library Interlibrary Loan Office.
The amount of material requested at any one time by a state employee may be limited to ten items "in process" by the Reference staff or by the Interlibrary Loan Office. Agencies are responsible for loaned materials until they are physically returned to the State Library. The State Library reserves the right to determine the amount and extent of interlibrary loan borrowing for individual agency staff, or for sections, divisions, or entire departments. For other questions about interlibrary loan policy, please call the Reference Services Director, (573) 751-3615.
NOTE: State employees who are eligible for interlibrary loan services from the Missouri State Library are generally those employed by the executive departments and state-wide elected officials in Jefferson City, and in state regional offices, and the legislative and judicial branches of state government and their employees. This does not include faculty, staff, or students of schools, colleges, or universities since they are not the primary clientele of the Missouri State Library, and because they maintain and are served by their own institution's libraries.
