The Governor issued a Writ of Election to fill the vacancy in the office of State Senate, District 9. This vacancy was created by the resignation of Senator Yvonne Wilson. Candidates nominated by the political parties or by petition must file their declaration of candidacy with the Secretary of State by 5:00 p.m. on January 15, 2011 for the special election to be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011.
