The governor issued a Writ of Election to fill the vacancy in the office of Missouri Senate, District 2.  This vacancy was created by the resignation of State Senator Jon Dolan. Candidates nominated by the political parties or by petition must file their declarations of candidacy with the Secretary of State by 5:00 p.m. on January 31, 2006, for the special election to be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2006.
