Toll Free Elections Complaint Information Line
As the state's chief election officer, it's my job to make sure that only eligible voters vote, but also that every eligible voter has the opportunity to vote.
The right to vote is fundamental to our nation's history and its promise. I have worked to protect this right my whole life, in the United States Army, Missouri House of Representatives, and now as Secretary of State.
That's why I'm establishing the Elections Integrity Unit. The Unit will be based in the Elections Division of my office and will investigate every credible allegation of voting improprieties within this office's jurisdiction. This includes Missouri laws that uphold the integrity of the voting process as well as those that protect the rights of individual voters.
The Unit has established a simple reporting procedure for both ordinary citizens and local election authorities to voice their concerns about any inappropriate actions they believe to have taken place. Every complaint will receive a written response, and because the public has a right – even a vital interest – in this information, all of the Unit's referrals and reviews will be publicly accessible on my office's website. Such transparency is how we preserve the confidence of Missourians in our elections while protecting our great democracy.
