Missouri State Archives, St. Louis - Directions
Directions to the Missouri State Archives, St. Louis
710 North Tucker, Room 213
The Missouri State Archives-St. Louis is at the old Globe-Democrat building at 710 North Tucker, Room 213, which is at the corner of Convention Plaza and Tucker (12th Street) on the north edge of downtown. The Globe building is within a mile of most of the large downtown hotels located along Broadway.
There is underground parking ($1/hour, $5/day) which you enter from Convention Plaza. Do not stop at the booth upon entry, park in an hourly parking slot - these are on the east (left) side of the first parking level against the wall. Obtain a parking ticket from the booth attendant (who may be walking around) and inform the attendant that you are here to visit the Missouri State Archives-St. Louis in Room 213. Bring your parking ticket up to our office. We may be able to validate parking for researchers.
Take the parking lot elevator (just to your left as you pass the ticket booth coming in) up to the lobby; take the regular lobby elevator to the second floor. Take two rights and follow the signs as you leave the elevator on the second floor. Room 213 is in the middle of the hall. The door should be unlocked, but if it is locked, just ring the doorbell.
With stations across the metro area, including Lambert-St. Louis Airport, Metro-Link trains are a good alternative to driving to MSA-St. Louis. The nearest stop is Convention Center which is approximately ½ mile east of our location. Proceed west on Washington Avenue to Tucker and turn north for about ¾ of a block. The Globe Democrat Building has a globe on the top of a corner sign that reads ”Globe Parking”. Go in under the green awning at 710 and follow the directions above to get to the elevators just to the left of the security desk.
Washington Avenue is a major St. Louis entertainment district; there are many restaurants within easy walking distance of the archives.
