HOUSE BILLS
[ Back to series list ]Extent: 16.4 cubic ft. (41 Hollinger boxes)
Arrangement: Bill number order
Scope and Content
This series contains bills submitted to the House by its members for consideration. Only a fraction of the introduced bills found here were actually agreed upon and passed as law. Records contain the author of the bill, date of submission, action taken, committee assigned to view the bill, and date of passage if approved. Also included are fiscal notes, amendments, conference committee reports, correspondence, and all versions of the bill
Gaps are found between House Bills #1114–1120 and between #1122–1126; these gaps are also found on the House’s website listing of 2000 bills, so presumably bills with these numbers do not exist. Where a bill was later combined with others, a new file was created in addition to the original file; this new file will be found under the lowest bill number. For instance, if HB 32 were to be combined with HB 2, then find this newly combined version would be next to the original file for HB 2.

Records of Veto Session
[ Back to series list ]Extent: 0.033 cubic ft. (1 folder)
Arrangement: Alphabetical
Scope and Content
This series contains the records of the veto session of the House and Senate held from September 13–14, 2000. Veto sessions, which are mandated by Article III, Section 32, of the Constitution of Missouri, occur when the governor vetoes a bill or resolution too late in the regular session for the General Assembly to give it their consideration. However, besides reconsidering vetoed bills and resolutions, the General Assembly also conducts other business while in session. Records are similar to those found in the regular session and, in this case, include Senate and House resolutions, attendance roll calls, journals, and messages.
