Kander Joins Military Leaders at Scott Air Force Base to Discuss Military Voting and Investment Protection
Jefferson City, Mo. — Secretary of State Jason Kander today met with Col. Kyle J. Kremer at Scott Air Force Base to discuss the services Kander’s office provides to current and former members of the armed services. The two discussed ways to make voting easier for members of the military who are from Missouri but stationed elsewhere, and how to combat the targeting of military personnel and veterans by fraudulent investment advisers offering phony investment schemes.
"The men and women stationed at Scott Air Force Base—many of whom are Missourians—provide a tremendous service to the United States, and are an important part of the St. Louis region," Kander said. "As a veteran myself, I will do all I can to support them and their families, especially when it comes to ensuring their opportunity to vote and helping them protect their hard-earned savings from investment scams."
Senior active duty and reserve military leadership also briefed Kander on the base’s mission, focusing on its role as a global mobility and transportation hub for the U.S. Department of Defense.
"I extend my thanks to the personnel who call Scott home for their hospitality," Kander said. "I look forward to working with them and their leadership to best serve our men and women in uniform."
Scott Air Force Base is home to U.S. Transportation Command, Air Mobility Command, the 618th Air and Space Operations Center and Air Force Network Integration Center, as well as a number of other units.
