- ASCLA: AccessAbility Academy: A recorded webcast entitled Positive Interactions: Making the Library A Welcoming and Empowering Place for People with Disabilities, that provides tips and practical advice to help prepare library employees from all library types to effectively communicate and interact with people with disabilities. - Legislative Updates : State Librarian Barbara Reading will host legislative update webinars in 2014 on February 20, March 27 and April 24, at 1:30 p.m. Tune in to catch up on the legislature’s activities and stay current on topics of importance to the library community. Registration is required and can be completed online.
- Library Skills (Continuing Education) A list of free continuing education opportunities for library staff from a variety of training providers compiled by the Wyoming State Library.
- Library Skills (General)
ABLE (Idaho Commission for Libraries): The free, online Alternative Basic Library Education (ABLE) Program provides basic library knowledge and skills for staff members who have no formal education in library science. Courses cover technical services, collection development, and reference.
SABLE (Idaho Commission for Library): The free, online Supplemental Alternative Basic Library Education (SABLE) program provides additional resources in library knowledge and skills for staff members who have no formal education in library science. This program is a supplement to the ABLE courses; however, they are not tied to the completion of the ABLE courses and concentrate on serving youth.
Online Anytime Webcasts (Mid-America Library Alliance): Webcasts for individuals or to groups for staff meetings or staff development days. Topics include Reader’s Advisory, Basic Library Services, Library Supervisory/Management/Leadership, Library Programs and Trends, and Library Human Resources. Some webcasts are free to staff in Missouri libraries.
Ohio Library Council Online Learning (Ohio Library Council): Tutorials on library marketing, reference, and general library practices for new employees. While the tutorials include some Ohio-specific content, they are general enough for use anywhere.
Missouri State Library Training Opportunities: Register to participate in one or more of the regional or online training opportunities provided by the Missouri State Library.
MOREnet Training Opportunities: A variety of technical training available to MOREnet members. The format and cost of the training varies. Topics include Windows Server Administration, Mobile Device Basics, Google Tools, Statewide Online Resources and other topics pertinent to the library community.
Recorded Webinars Archive: Archived recordings of webinars sponsored by the Missouri State Library. Some recordings may require special permission to view.
Technology Training Sources: Online instructor-led training and tutorials on the OCLC products, such as WorldCat, CatExpress and CONTENTdm.
United for Libraries Trustee Academy : A series of online courses to help trustees become proficient in their roles on behalf of their libraries.
