The Business Services Division of the secretary of state’s office will suspend all services beginning Tuesday, June 17th at 5:00 PM, through Monday, June 23rd at 8:00 AM for system maintenance.
We value your business and apologize for any inconvenience. All division offices (Jefferson City, St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield) will remain open, so please contact one of our offices if you have any questions or call our hotline at 1-866-223-6535.
Here is additional information regarding the suspension of services:
What services will not be available from Tuesday, June 17th at 5 PM through Monday, June 23rd at 8 AM?
Nearly all division services will not be available. This includes searching business information, filing documents, UCC filings, certified copies, certificates of good standing, notary services, and certifications. Any mailed documents will not be filed until after Monday, June 23rd at 8 AM.
What services will still be available?
Service of process, Safe at Home, and limited commissions functions.
Because I cannot access online business information, can the secretary of state’s office look up that information for me?
No. The internal system the Business Services Division uses will also be unavailable. Anyone searching for business information from our division – even division employees – must wait until services resume on June 23rd.
What happens to any mail sent to the division during this time?
The division will date stamp all mail and begin processing those documents on June 23rd. Those documents will be filed with the date the division received them. This is no different than our normal process.
