A. B. Nichols Panama Collection Contributed by: Linda Hall Library of Science, Engineering & Technology A. B. Nichols Panama Canal Materials were gathered and organized during Nichols' tenure as Office Engineer. Nichols was first employed by the Isthmian Canal Commission in 1899 to survey the Nicaraguan route. In 1904, he was assigned to the Panama Canal. Most of the materials in these notebooks and albums dates from 1906 to 1917. |

Still (1828-1917) rebelled against standard 19th century medicine and launched his own health care system based on concepts of form and function, later named osteopathy. Bagnell Dam Construction Photographs Contributed by: Missouri State Archives This collection of 845 photographs documents all phases of the Bagnell Dam construction project, including the workers, the buildings erected for housing and other needs, and of areas around the dam site. The construction of Bagnell Dam led to the creation of the Lake of the Ozarks, one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States and a popular tourist destination. |

Bureau of Labor and Statistics - The Red Book Contributed by: Missouri State Archives First published in 1879, the Bureau of Labor and Statistics Annual Report provides information about Missouri's history of industry and labor. The annual report became known as "The Red Book" due to the red cover of the early volumes, although the later editions are much smaller and are no longer bound with red covers. |

Camp Crowder Photograph Collection Contributed by: Missouri State Archives Established in 1941, Camp Crowder was a military installation near Neosho, Missouri named in honor of Major General Enoch H. Crowder. By 1942, the first soldiers arrived at the Signal Corps Replacement Training Center for training in forty different military communications specialties. The post also trained medical-corps soldiers and ground-force troops, established an Officer Candidate Preparatory School, and held a large prisoner of war camp. |

Camp Ozark – Powersite Dam Photograph Collection Contributed by: White River Valley Historical Society 101 photographs of the construction of the Powersite Dam, the first hydroelectric dam in the State of Missouri. During construction, most of the workers lived at the dam site; the settlement became known as Camp Ozark. Images include those of workers, machinery, barges, buildings, excavation work, railroads, and the spillway outlet and powerhouse. |

Cape Girardeau Argus Contributed by: Southeast Missouri State University A weekly newspaper for Cape Girardeau, Missouri, published by W. H. Hamilton. The paper runs from June 18, 1863 through June 1, 1871, covering the Civil War era. The physical issues were bound into four volumes. Please note that there are two missing issues (May 26, 1864 and September 16, 1869) and that the issues from June 15, 1865 to July 27, 1865 have received conservation treatment. |

Registre d'Arpentage Contributed by: Missouri State Archives The Registre d’Arpentage was created between 1798 and 1806 by surveyor Antoine Pierre Soulard (1766-1825). The purpose of the Registre was to certify and locate grants made by the French and Spanish governments. Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps for Missouri Contributed by: University of Missouri-Columbia Special Collections The Sanborn Fire Insurance Map Company, established in 1867, compiled and published maps of U.S. cities and towns for the fire insurance industry to assess the risk of insuring a particular property. The maps are large scale plans of a city or town drawn at a scale of 50 feet to an inch. This collection contains 6,798 of the maps for Missouri cities from 1880 to 1922. |
